The dining room in our new house is one of the few rooms where I start from scratch. The dining table in our old house was a lot longer than the one we have now, so I sold it and the chairs before we moved. And since our old bedroom had a built-in closet, there weren’t any dining room storage pieces either. Our new dining room is slowly taking shape (emphasis on slowly 😜) – so far we,

I’m still waiting for the dining room table that I ordered months ago (the table there is now our desk) and I’m waiting to buy the chairs until the table arrives (the current chairs are from our eat-in kitchen). In the meantime, I’m thinking about how I’m going to decorate the wall above and to the side of our dining room, and maybe this wall too:

I have so many ideas floating around in my head that I thought I would share all the dining room wall decor ideas with you because I am sure some of you have dining room decor on your to do list at home !

If you have a console table, sideboard, or sideboard, the only dining room wall decor you need for your space might be a few stylish pieces on it. I love the simple arrangement of a central piece of art surrounded by a green vase on one side and a tray of barware and glasses on the other:

If you have a collection of dinnerware or beautiful wedding favors that you never use, consider hanging them on the wall instead of hiding them in a closet. I mixed two different sets of my Juliska dining and serving pieces and created this plate wall in the dining room of our old house:

I hung the plates with hangers which held them securely in place but could also be easily removed if I wanted to throw away one of the plates or serving pieces to use for a larger gathering. Check out how to hang plates on the wall for all the details on how to hang them.

I love the look of a row of different round baskets against a wall and think it would be wonderful in a dining room. You can buy wall baskets as a set that coordinate beautifully, such as:

Or in an Etsy shop. You can also buy them individually and mix and match yourself. Some of the most popular sources to buy wall hanging baskets individually include the world market.

If you have a bare bedroom wall across from multiple windows, a large mirror will reflect the light and brighten your space. You can hang a large mirror on the console like this:

Adding a gas or wood burning fireplace to a home is often a very expensive upgrade, but have you thought about adding an outlet? You’ve come a long way in the last few years to get a closer look! They can be installed almost anywhere there is an outlet as no switch is required.

You have the choice between a freestanding electric fireplace or an electric stove attachment. Freestanding electric stoves come with a mantle so all you have to do is plug them in. You can even find freestanding fireplaces with a cement surround, such as B. a border of Carrara marble in herringbone pattern.

On the other hand, an electric stove plug is similar to a gas plug in that you need to build an enclosure for it. It’s more work, but allows for more personalization (you can choose your own rug, mantel, etc. to perfectly match the style of your home). And it gives you a made up look.

I love a good feature wall, especially one with a custom shape like this beautiful dining room:

Most feature walls like this are made by a carpenter (or it’s DIY!) and can be fully customized to your liking. Another possibility is to use a wall-shaped kit, e.g. B. one of the wooden frames with glued back. You just attach them to your wall and paint! I have never tried them but the reviews are great!

If you have a piece on the dining room wall that is lost because the wall is so tall, adding tall greenery next to your furniture could be the answer! I have a terrible history of keeping trees alive indoors (maybe I’ll have to repeat this in our new house that gets more light!), but if you’re a green thumb, adding a fig or ficus tree leaf can be refreshing . . new life in your place.

If you want to go with some faux, brown olive wood is a great choice for filling a bare wall without increasing the space:
